Stephanie Wilson hopes Lee Iacocca likes the Raleigh real estate market so much, he’ll buy into a development project here.
Wilson, president of ACCESS Commercial Realty, says she is trying to line up a local deal for Iacocca, who is a friend of her mother. She said she’s looked at some condominium and office projects, but hasn’t come up with one she thinks would be a good investment for the former Chrysler chairman.
But that hasn’t stopped Wilson from pulling off a slew of deals since forming ACCESS last July with partner Bobby Lewis. Before they teamed up, Wilson worked with the Centre Group development firm, and Lewis headed up his own real estate firm.
The duo has purchased, rehabilitated and leased up several older, smaller office buildings in the white-hot market around Glenwood Avenue and Peace Street, west of downtown Raleigh. They also are moving into another hip locale through their recent purchase of a former veterinary clinic on Oberlin Road across from Cameron Village.
